We Did Not Choose the AC Life The

AC LIFE CHOSE US

Klang Valley‘s honest air-conditioner service team.

In 2019, before the Covid years, Alexis & Ilona hired a contractor from a (now defunct) home services platform to service their home air conditioners. The original quote was RM264 for 3 units. However, additional charges were added on site due to horsepower differences and “gas top-up” requirements — pushing the final bill close to RM800. With no clear breakdown and no proper recourse, the experience left them frustrated. During the lockdown period, Alexis decided to learn air-conditioning servicing himself — focusing on honest pricing, safe cleaning methods and real workmanship. Today, Ang Family Services has grown into a small team of friends and colleagues who take pride in making Klang Valley cooler, cleaner, and more comfortable.

INTERN COMES BACK!

Our first impression of Hakeem wasn’t great — his mum came with him for the interview.

But he has since proven himself to be a kind, hardworking young man who listens closely and gives his best.

We are proud to have watched him grow and are glad to have him as part of the team.

No intern left behind

Dry mode runs the AC as a dehumidifier with its main aim of removing moisture instead of cooling. The following are situations where dry mode could be used.

  • temperature isn’t that high

  • humidity is high

  • for not more than 1-2 hours at a time

Seeing as Malaysia is a tropical rainforest country that enjoys an equatorial climate, we recommend the use of purpose built dehumidifiers to dry indoor air while ACs are reserved for cooling.

DRY MODE MYSTERY

INVERTERS VS NON INVERTERS

Traditional ACs turn the compressors on and off to maintain set temperature while inverters use variable speed compressors that are always on to achieve a smoother cooling cycle and reduced power consumption. Here is a comparison of both these versions of ACs for your reference.

Inverters

  • Lower power consumption

  • Smoother temperature control

  • Higher up-front purchase cost

  • Expensive and difficult repairs

Non - inverters

  • Lower up-front purchase cost

  • Simpler and cheaper repairs Higher power consumption

  • Cools in bursts

There is no “Best” - only what fits for your home and usage
